I Ching

BUY NOW:

The I Ching is 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 years old. No one can know exactly because its birth is lost in the mists of time. If, as the majority opinion holds, it is related to Fu Hsi, a mythical Chinese figure, who is considered to be its inventor, then its appearance must be placed beyond historical memory. In any case, the natural fathers of this great book of oracles and knowledge are four: the aforementioned Fu Hsi, King Wên, the Duke of Chou and Confucius.

Emperors and kings of the various subsequent Chinese dynasties added sentence by sentence, commentary by commentary, until the 64 signs, represented by hexagrams, were completed by King Wên, ancestor of the Chou dynasty. As historical documents prove, the book was used as an oracle text throughout the Chou era under the title The Mutations of Chou.
